Current Status of Snowland

Education is backbone of the society. It holds the foundation of civilization and development. Education and awareness raising efforts are crucial in shaping people’s attitude, perception and behavior towards sustainable development. Also, it is a key factor for poverty reduction and sustainable development. Education has long been a problem in our society because of its lack which would ultimately support for the survival economic growth. It is a well-known fact that poverty hinders people to get schooling.

Poor education is a cause of poverty or effect of poverty. Rural poverty is one of the major challenges in present development endeavor of Nepal. Education, management, quality, relevance, access etc are some of the critical issues to be addressed. Societal disparities based on gender, ethnicity, location, economic class, etc are yet to be solved. Nepal’s Himalayan region frequently experiences cold weather and snowfall. Further, agricultural land is very limited where it is very difficult to grow crops for their livelihoods. Due to rugged terrain and difficult geo-climatic condition the area is almost virgin. The condition of the children in this region is harsh. Visualizing the extreme condition of the people living in Himalayan region His Holiness Dolpo Buddha Ranag Rinchen Rinpoche wishes to provide the children proper education which fits in modern age with valued principles of humanity. In this regard disciples of Dolpo Buddha round the globe and other helping hands have offered support for this dignified cause.
SRLES currently runs two separate hostels for  boys and  girls. Such problems are supposed to be addressed in this academic session. Brief account of the current financial status of the school and other expenditures in different heading are given below.
